About the project

The West Asian Championship among children 8-18 years old was held on the Island of Ukulhas (Maldives) in the summer of 2022. Our republic was represented by 12 chess players from the youth team of Kyrgyzstan. Our foundation covered the travel expenses for this great event of the chess community.
The championship was held in three disciplines: classical chess, rapid and blitz. A total of 180 chess players from 9 countries took part: Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal and Pakistan.

About the results

According to the results of the championship, the national team of Kyrgyzstan won 13 medals.

Classic Chess Championship 4 medals (gold - 1, silver - 1, bronze - 2):

1st place - Erzhan Zhakshylykov (boys under 16)
2nd place - Yunusov Nurddin (boys under 14)
3rd place - Dastan Ibraimov (boys under 10)
3rd place - Polyak Margarita (girls under 8 years old)

Rapid championship 4 medals (gold - 1, bronze - 3):

1st place - Erzhan Zhakshylykov (boys under 16)
3rd place - Bekbasarova Nurnisa (girls under 16)
3rd place - Zhunusbekova Aimonchok (girls under 14)
3rd place - Emir Sharshenbekov (boys under 12)

Blitz championship 5 medals (gold - 1, silver - 3, bronze - 1):

1st place - Erzhan Zhakshylykov (boys under 16)
2nd place - Aziz Degenbaev (boys under 18)
2nd place - Emir Sharshenbekov (boys under 12)
2nd place - Polyak Margarita (girls under 8)
3rd place - Tursunaliyeva Nurelina (girls under 10)

A brilliant result was shown by Zhakshylykov Erzhan, who became the absolute champion of Western Asia and fulfilled the norm of the international master.

About the budget
