Presentation of the social investment proposal for the launch of the Radiotherapy Center took place in Kyrgyzstan
On June 23, Apake Foundation presented a project for the construction of the Radiotherapy Center (RTC) in Kyrgyzstan. The purpose of the event is to mobilize the domestic business community, represented by financial institutions and social entrepreneurs, and to draw public attention to the issue of prevention and treatment of cancer.
The speakers of the meeting are Babur Tolbaev, the initiator of creating the Center, the chairman of the Supervisory Board of Apake Foundation; Vice Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic, Cholpon Sultanbekova; Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic Tolkunbek Abdygulov, chairman of the Association of Oncologists and Radiologists of the Kyrgyz Republic, Indira Kudaibergenova, as well as representatives of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund and social entrepreneurs. At the presentation, all participants and journalists received comprehensive information on the business plan and on the conditions of investment of the project by social donors.
The purpose and idea of the project is to build a modern center where radiation therapy will be conducted for oncological patients on high-tech equipment and for affordable prices. The preliminary total cost of the project is 10.5 million dollars. 2 million dollars of which is planned to attract from financial institutions and social businessmen with the provision for return of investments. And the rest of the amount of $ 8.5 million can be provided by large international financial institutions.
Versatility, sufficient bandwidth, reliability, safety and satisfactory tolerability in the treatment of cancer will be insured thanks to the modern linear accelerator from Varian, TrueBeam ™ STx, which will allow for effective radiotherapy.
“We called businessmen of Kyrgyzstan to join us. We already have land for building a center, provided as a gift from a businessman, there is a donation of $ 100,000 guaranteed by an MFI, $ 100,000 from a commercial bank, $ 100,000 from a social entrepreneur. In addition, we received a $ 100,000 discount on the construction of the Center building from the Kyrgyz construction company. When at least 17 people agree to make a contribution of $ 100,000, we will be ready to start our project, ”said Babur Tolbaev, Chairman of Apake.
