Superfinal of the Kyrgyz Republic Chess Championship among Men and Women – 2023
April 27 – May 9, 2023, Bishkek
The Superfinal of the Kyrgyz Republic Chess Championship among men and women took place at the KCF office from April 27 to May 9, 2023. The tournament featured 24 of the strongest chess players in the Kyrgyz Republic: 12 men and 12 women.
The total prize fund was 315,000 KGS.
As a result of the tournament, the champions and the national chess team of the Kyrgyz Republic for 2023 were determined.

Open All-Russian Chess Tournament "White Rook" among School Teams – 2023
The international chess tournament "White Rook" was held from June 1 to June 11, 2023, in Sochi.
Team composition representing Kyrgyzstan:
- Board 1 – Elim Keneshbekov
- Board 2 – Erkhan Zarylykov
- Board 3 – Dastan Ibraimov
- Board 4 – Edisa Berdibaeva
After 9 rounds, our team ranked 13th out of 87 teams.
Funding: 114,267 KGS was allocated for travel expenses (tickets).
Kyrgyz Republic Chess Championship among Youth with Disabilities – 2023
The championship took place on May 14, 2023, in Bishkek. The tournament was held in three categories:
- Category A – for individuals with total or partial vision loss.
- Category B – for individuals with total or partial hearing loss.
- Category C – for individuals with musculoskeletal disorders, including those with general health disabilities.
Prize fund: 99,000 KGS.
Zone 3.4 Chess Championship
May 26 – June 3, 2023, Dushanbe
The Zone 3.4 Championship (Central Asia Championship) was held from May 26 to June 3, 2023, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Representing Kyrgyzstan:
- FM Ruslan Syezdbekov – Bronze medalist of the 2023 Kyrgyz Republic Men's Superfinal.
- Asel Lesbekova – Silver medalist of the 2023 Women's Superfinal.
Funding: 75,573.90 KGS was allocated for their travel expenses (tickets).
Western Asia Chess Championship for Children (6–18 years old)
The Kyrgyz Chess Union organized the Western Asia Chess Championship for children aged 6 to 18 from June 30 to July 10, 2023, at the "Solemar" Recreation Center.
The tournament hosted 250 young chess players from 10 countries: Bangladesh, India, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka, Oman, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and FIDE flag players.
The championship was FIDE-rated, with the awarding of international titles (International Master, FIDE Master, etc.) in each age category.
Funding: The "Apake" Fund allocated 251,130 KGS for expenses related to trophy engravings, statuettes, and medals.
International Chess Festival "Issyk-Kul Open – 2023"
July 11–21, 2023, Solemar Recreation Center
The "Issyk-Kul Open – 2023" International Chess Festival took place from July 11 to 21, 2023, at the "Solemar" Recreation Center.
The festival gathered 250 participants from 18 countries, including Australia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Chile, Germany, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Mongolia, Russia, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and FIDE flag players.
The "A" Tournament featured a strong lineup, including 7 grandmasters, 12 international masters, and 14 FIDE masters!
The festival was divided into three rating groups:
- Group "A" – for players with a FIDE rating of 2000 and above.
- Group "B" – for players with a FIDE rating between 1700 and 1999.
- Group "C" – for players with a FIDE rating of 1699 and below, including amateur players.
Funding:
- The "Apake" Fund allocated 120,214.72 KGS for travel expenses (airfare) of FIDE International Photographer Anna Sturman and Chief Arbiter Vartapetyan Ashot (International Arbiter).
- Additionally, 96,722.98 KGS was allocated for travel expenses of grandmasters Evgeniy Gleizerov and Mikhail Ulybin.
Winners:
- Group "A" – Nikita Khoroshev (IM, Uzbekistan) and Marzhona Malikova.
- Group "B" – Baiyel Muradyilov and Diana Omurbekova.
- Group "C" – Rustambek Erkinov and Altynay Layashukurova.
Additionally, three participants achieved the International Master norm!
A FIDE Arbiter Seminar was also held from July 16 to 18 as part of the festival.
