Culture of Family Life and Effective Communication as the Foundation of a Healthy Society
Project Participants:
- Study Participants: Students, faculty, and staff of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy (KSMA).
- Initiator and Trainer: Mentorship School of Babur Tolbaev.
- Organizer and Sponsor: Public Foundation "Apake" and LLC "TMS."
Research Objective:
The study aims to examine the effectiveness of training sessions on the number of marriages and divorces among participants.
Project Justification:
Young people immersed in the process of professional development, career building, and financial stability often lack the necessary knowledge about building and maintaining harmonious family relationships. Modern youth face complex challenges in creating and sustaining personal family relationships, leading to a general decline in family life satisfaction, increased family conflicts, and a rise in divorce rates (according to statistical data from the National Statistics Committee from 2013 to 2023).
The project aims to address this situation by analyzing data and conducting training sessions on the culture of family relationships, effective communication, and social responsibility in creating and strengthening families. This project is especially significant for medical students, as interpersonal communication skills and understanding relationship psychology can benefit not only their personal lives but also their professional activities, enhancing communication between doctors and patients and thereby improving the quality of medical services.
Timeline:
The project's total duration with KSMA is 3 years.
Expected Results:
The implementation of this project will help identify the impact of the educational training program on reducing divorce rates and increasing the percentage of those who wish to start a family. The results may serve as a basis for developing and introducing special electives on family education into university educational programs in Kyrgyzstan.
Conclusion:
This project offers a unique opportunity for KSMA students and staff not only to increase their knowledge about family relationships but also to develop social skills, positively influencing both their personal lives and professional activities. Our goal is to analyze and raise awareness among KSMA students and staff regarding the culture of family communication, as well as to strengthen effective communications within the university.
